
The Alternative Dispute Resolution Board of the School of Law, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Bengaluru, successfully hosted the 6th CHRIST Mediation–Arbitration Competition from 4th to 6th February 2026. The sixth edition of the CHRIST Mediation–Arbitration Competition served as the flagship event of the ADR Board for the academic year and was designed to provide participants with first-hand professional exposure to the processes of arbitration and mediation. Through meticulously drafted and expertly reviewed propositions, the competition aimed to simulate real-world dispute resolution scenarios and encourage the development of advocacy, negotiation, and problem-solving skills among law students.
The successful conduct of the competition was made possible through the constant guidance and institutional support of Dr. Fr. Thomas T. V., Director, School of Law; Dr. Sapna S., Dean and Head of Department; and Dr. Shibu Puthalath, Associate Head of Department. The event was diligently coordinated by the Faculty Coordinators, Dr. Sawmya Suresh, Dr. Rita Ghial, and Dr. Aswathy Madhukumar, along with the Student Convenors, Mr. Aryan Sood, Ms. Daya Ann Thomas, and Mr. Dev Daryani, whose collective efforts ensured the seamless execution of the competition.

Inaugral Ceremony
The Inaugural Ceremony was presided over by an eminent panel comprising Hon’ble Mr. Justice (Retd.) N. Santosh Hegde, Former Judge of the Supreme Court of India, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest; Mr. A. J. Jawad, Registrar, International Arbitration and Mediation Centre, as Guest of Honour; and Adv. Suadat Ahmad Kirmani, Partner at CMS INDUSLAW, as Guest of Honour. Their presence and insights set a distinguished tone for the commencement of the competition.

Valedictory Ceremony
The Valedictory Ceremony was presided over by an esteemed panel comprising Hon’ble Mr. Justice (Retd.) P. Krishna Bhat, Former Judge of the High Court of Karnataka, as the Chief Guest. The ceremony was further graced by distinguished Guests of Honour including Adv. Prashant Sabeshan, Partner at Dentons Link Legal; Adv. Maneesha Kongovi, Partner at CMS INDUSLAW; Adv. Prashant Popat, Senior Partner at ALMT Legal; Adv. Anind Thomas, Partner at AZB & Partners; Adv. Aditya Chatterjee, Partner at Keystone Partners; and Ms. Natalia Alenkina, Associate Professor at the American University of Central Asia and Scholar-in-Residence at CHRIST (Deemed to be University).
Event Report
The ADR Board extends its heartfelt congratulations to all teams for their enthusiastic participation and outstanding performances throughout the competition. As we wrapped up the 6th CHRIST Med-Arb Competition, 2026, we wish all the participants the very best. We hope this journey has been a rewarding experience for everyone involved, and we sincerely thank all contributors for making this event a remarkable success.
